Founder & fight promoter

The vision
behind Rigoro.

Rigoro Gym was founded by Ricky Vllasaliu, a professional European kickboxing champion and world amateur Muay Thai champion whose life has been shaped by competition, coaching, and a commitment to growing the sport.

After bringing his experience from Kosovo to the United States, Ricky opened Rigoro’s first U.S. gym in Rockland County in 2020. The same technical standard and team-first culture now connect Rigoro locations across New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

Ricky is also the founder and owner of RFC Promotions. Its K-Series has grown into one of America’s leading K-1 kickboxing platforms, giving amateur and professional fighters a professionally produced stage on which to compete.

Common questions

New here?
We’ve got you.

You do not need to be fit, coordinated, or experienced before starting. That is what training is for.

Do I need experience or need to be in shape?

Not at all. Members begin at different fitness and experience levels. Coaches keep instruction clear and help you progress at your own pace.

What should I bring to my first class?

Wear comfortable athletic clothes and bring a water bottle. Contact us before class and we’ll let you know if anything else is needed.

Is kickboxing suitable for children?

Kids training is designed to develop coordination, focus, confidence, discipline, and respect in a structured group environment.

What if I’m not athletic or coordinated?

You will fit right in. Technique and coordination develop through practice, and everyone’s progress looks different.

Can I train without wanting to compete?

Absolutely. Many members train for fitness, stress relief, confidence, and self-defense. Competition is available for those who want it.
