Why Rigoro
Since establishing its U.S. presence in 2020, Rigoro has developed fighters and champions while helping everyday members become stronger, more confident, and more capable.
We believe martial arts is for everyone. Every class is built around practical coaching, disciplined progress, and a community that wants to see you succeed.
Meet your Rockledge head coach
Mike Frezza brings proven competition experience and an endurance athlete’s mindset to every class at Rigoro Gym Rockledge. As a New York State Champion, U.S. National Champion, and active fighter, he understands what it takes to improve under pressure. He was trained by a world champion, building his foundation in authentic, high-level technique.
Mike’s coaching is technical, demanding, and approachable. Whether you are learning your first combination, training for fitness, or preparing to compete, he meets you where you are and helps you build toward the next level.
Founder & fight promoter
Rigoro Gym was founded by Ricky Vllasaliu, a professional European kickboxing champion and world amateur Muay Thai champion whose life has been shaped by competition, coaching, and a commitment to growing the sport.
After bringing his experience from Kosovo to the United States, Ricky opened Rigoro’s first U.S. gym in Rockland County in 2020. The same technical standard and team-first culture now connect Rigoro locations across New York, New Jersey, and Florida.
Ricky is also the founder and owner of RFC Promotions. Its K-Series has grown into one of America’s leading K-1 kickboxing platforms, giving amateur and professional fighters a professionally produced stage on which to compete.
The Rigoro community
From Rockledge to the established Rigoro locations in New York and New Jersey, this is a martial arts community built through hard work, competition, and mutual respect.
